….. Busan Continues

So, we’re two thirds of the way through our stop in Busan.

Yesterday we also welcomed in the New Year, in one of the liveliest districts so far.

In the days leading up to the New Year we visited a beautiful Budist temple at Haedong Yonggung, which overlooked the sea.

We also had the privilege of experiencing two other unexpected stops. The first was a ‘Luge’ at Haeundae, which was sponsored by the NZ Government, and looked exactly like the venues back in Rotorua and Queenstown. You could even buy a soft toy of either a kiwi or a sheep!! The second was an experience for Bex, we found an IKEA store – oh no!! This was the first time she had the ‘Swedish experience’ of slowly meandering through the entire store. luckily her luggage allowance prevented her buying lots of goodies for her new home.

Finally, we decided to head down ‘bookstore alley‘ to view one of the oldest sections of the city. This area has thousands upon thousand of books in stores that are all packed to the rafters. The South Koreans really need to employ a librarian so the owners can find the books that people are after.
