In our final days in Busan we managed to visit Songdo beach, which was the original beach for the city in 1907. This also included an 85 metre gondola ride over to one of the small islands where you get fantastic views across the ocean.
We also visited the largest Mall in the world, with more than 700 shops in – plus spas, ice rink, golf driving range, etc, etc.
In addition, we went to Haeundai Beach, visited the site of the 2005 APEC meeting (where Helena stood in the footsteps of Helen Clark) and did a gentle hike along the Oryukdo coastline, including 88 flights of steps that Helena loved!! We did give her the luxury of taking a rest on the glass bottom walkway that she did make the most of. We have completed our stay in Busan (and we’ll definately miss the spicy chicken!!), and are now heading north towards Seoul. Before then we’ll be visiting Gwangju and Jongju.
